The White House at the Wijnhaven in Rotterdam was built in 1897-1898 and designed by architect M. Molenbroek, on commission by the Schuijt brothers, famous businessmen from Rotterdam. The building was designed as individual offices with common facilities. The 45m high White House was the first skyscraper in Europe. For decades, this monument was the highest building in the Netherlands. There are various restaurants and pubs in the immediate area.
